What if kids’ meals could be just as easy as snacks? That’s the question that sparked Nomie: high-protein, freeze-dried meals made with simple ingredients that transform into a nutritious dish with just a splash of boiling water—no prep, fridge, or microwave needed. Pretty dang genius, huh?
After serious R&D and guidance from pediatric nutritionists, Nomie developed a pouch that could take kids’ meals from pantry to plate, all in one package. When Benita came in, the product was ready. The challenge was that there wasn’t anything else like it on shelves. Traditional kids’ food typically fell into one of two camps: baby-forward and too kid-ish or clinical and decidedly parent-facing. Our goal for Nomie was to bridge that gap, making parents immediately want to reach for it, and kids excited to come back for more.
The secret sauce: Put fun up front, without burying the function.
So, we set off on our playful journey of building the Nomie-verse: Bright colors, funky patterns, bold typography, and an adorable (!!) cast of characters—Mac, Zuzu, and Beanie—to bring personality, warmth, and a touch of imagination to every pouch. Each character has their own distinct personality and story, creating a world that extends beyond the packaging and gives kids something to resonate with. Meanwhile, bold typography, punchy messaging, and noticeable bubble callouts do the heavy lifting for parents. Within a few seconds of interacting with the pouch, they can understand what Nomie is, how it works, and why it belongs in their pantry. But the fun doesn’t stop at the packaging—once you see the brand come to life on web, it feels like an adventure you can’t help but want to join.
Safe to say, our inner kid had a field day with this one.
